Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is a pregnancy test?

Our medical-grade pregnancy tests are 99% accurate. They determine pregnancy by detecting hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) hormone levels as soon as the baby implants in the uterus. We recommend coming in for a test no earlier than the first day of your expected missed period.

How much does an appointment cost?

Nothing! All of our services are free thanks to the generous financial support of the Salem community.

How long does an appointment take and what should I expect?

A standard appointment takes between forty-five minutes to an hour-and-a-half, depending on if our medical staff determines that you are eligible for an ultrasound.

Please come to your appointment with a photo ID and another adult if you are bringing children. We also recommend drinking approximately sixteen ounces of water beforehand to ensure a more conclusive outcome on your pregnancy test and ultrasound.

Do you provide birth control?

We do not provide birth control. We do provide information about different birth control methods, but we recommend that you seek medical advice from your doctor.

Do I need an appointment?

We do accept walk-ins if there is an opening in our schedule. However, to minimize your wait time, we recommend scheduling an appointment through our contact form or give us a call.

Do you provide or refer for abortions?

We do not provide or refer for abortions, however, we do provide useful information about different abortion procedures. An abortion may not even be necessary if this pregnancy is ectopic or has ended in miscarriage. Our ultrasound would confirm if either of these are true for you.

What are your privacy practices?
